I have been playing music for most of my life. I first started on guitar when I was 4 years old with group lessons at the YMCA. In 4th grade I started playing the clarinet, and in the 6th grade I began studying the piano. In high school I discovered the electric guitar and it has been my primary instrument ever since then. I began teaching guitar in 1996 while still an undergraduate in the Music Education Department at UMass Lowell. My education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from UMass Lowell, a Master's Degree in Music Education from UMass Amherst, and a CAGS in Special Education from Assumption College. In 2000 I began teaching Music in the Worcester Public Schools. I currently teach Band, Music Magnet, and General Music at Burncoat Middle School of The Arts, and I have taught Elementary General Music as well as Elementary String Instruments over the years in Worcester as well. In addition to teaching, I also perform on the guitar at various events, musical theater pits, a rock band, a country band, and 2 acoustic duos.
